Thumbs down PVP Help Pls

Just got back, been gone for years..

Make a char, get out and start fighting and I'm

immediately flagged as a leecher by a bunch of people.

Don't know if it's because I'm playing a paragon, weak or just

inexperienced but I was killing ppl, saving party members with heals and

serving up all kinds of bonuses.

How is it that I can get sidelined with a dishonorable hex when I'm not actually leeching?

Never even had an admin talk to me or anything, is this game broken?

What's goin on here??

Tryin to play ffs!

Not the welcome back I expected!

1. There are very few people left in this game, especially playing formats like Random Arenas-which I suppose you were doing-
2. The people who still do so are elitists who don't want to have the noob (inexperienced players, players not playing the right builds, players don't acting the way they do, players they don't recognise) in their teams so they flag you as a leecher hoping you'll quit PvP and let their elitist *sses find themselves playing against the same boring team for the rest of the day.
3. I guess that places you out of luck, there are no admins left in this game. It's completely automated. I'd suggest you play some PvE and check out the beautiful scenery this game has to offer or join some PvP RA guild, there's not much choice otherwise.

1) You are on a paragon - Paragons in general suck.
2) You were "Saving" and "healing" party members with your paragon.

I would probably report you for both those reasons. You are playing a bad class with a bad build from the sounds of it. Pick up something else more effective and you won't have that problem.

See and this is what the above poster was talking about: stupid elitists. How about whispering the player and give him advice instead of reporting him? It's not like he is doing it on purpose to ruin your experience.

Don't make stupid assumptions, it makes you look... Stupid.

My input has nothing to do with "elitism".

I don't have time to log on a game and gently caress your ass. When I report you and tell you your build sucks, that is my advice.

Don't like it? Ignore me. I don't give a damn. When I log on I prefer not to have my time wasted.

No, telling him by pm or team chat that his build sucks is advice. (Rude advice, but advice none the less). Just reporting him for no valid reason is elitist. In my books, it's cheating too. He's just trying to play.

Way to dispel the elitist tag

Sadly, most PvP players lack social skills. You're going to have to grow a thick skin to survive in there.

Reporting him for no reason is just me being an ass hole. lol

The lack of social skills applies to most players in general. Although syncers seem to have the worst social skills out of anyone... syncers and players who are terrible but wish they weren't.

I agree with what max says. As long as you do message him it is giving advice which at least helps a bit for him to understand. Most don't do that, though, and I didn't see any mention of it in your original post, either, so I wrote what I wrote.
If you don't have time to be nice then that's sad but totally your dicision. However, just reporting someone without telling him why isn't going to help anyone. Because, as you see in the OP, someone who doesn't know the game well also probably doesn't know if he is doing something wrong and what he is doing wrong to recieve such a slap in the face.

Play what ever the hell you like in RA mate, it is called "random arenas".

Sucks how people are reporting you for that petty reason and it should not be allowed but unfortunately there is not the discipline here any more ;(

My advice, this game sucks for PVP these days now unless you are in a PVP related guild. PvE or go into RA with whatever you like and shove two fingers up at anyone who starts having a go. It is meant to be fun and too many people miss that element when they log in.

Play whatever you like

If you seek victory (25 wins for example) I would suggest learning how to play as a monk, the PvX WoH bar is actually rather good, you will notice it be rather malleable and will most likely evolve with a skill or two swapped out as you become better

Paragon & Assassin are rather hated in PvP - it isn't really anything personal, more-so to do with their usefulness & / or the builds that are being run on them

Also if you're uncertain what to run, just PvX a build, people will often report you for running something "out of the ordinary" ( even if it is effective )

General tips:

Use keyboard (eventually you won't even touch your mouse xD)

Watch field for vulnerable foes and / or allies who need prot / healing most

Don't overextend (i.e stay with team, and keep proper position - frontline front, backline back)

Armor > Health =D

No superior runes besides vigor

Think about the game very technically;

weapon swapping as needed
stay on shield set when not attack / casting
position yourself behind the enemy as melee to land crit hits (It's one reason why good axe wars always seem to move so oddly around their target)

Doesn't sound fun but there it is

tl;dr

be pro; play efficiently & effectively, also play meta stuffs or prepare to get perma -dishonour xD

Hehehe =D Have fun in the arenas

One of the reasons I never got into PvP. Too many badly behaving 4 year olds.

That is usually what happens, the 4 year olds try and play PvP with random junk that isn't viable and then end up quitting PvP.

Then you have the really mouthy 4 year olds that keep trying to beat the good players and talk sh1t and only end up embarassing themselves and quitting.

Nice try but no cigar. The real 4 year olds are the "elites" (aka your "good players") that have played there forever and still remain 4 mentally and morally needing some game-provided external validation of themselves for some sad reason.

The result is they think it is more important to trot around as "elites" at moving a few pixels around on screen at the cost of losing their civility towards real, live human beings. Cyber bullies exist inside of games like this and they are indeed a very sad lot. No mature human being acts like that towards their fellow man over anything let alone a mere game.

Well, what I ended up doing was making a new char (pve) and I'm relearnin the game and to my amazement, I'm actually

enjoying much of the questing. Started sunday night, hit 11, 16 on mon., hit L20 yesterday, in max armor, I've leveled at least

21 times now. Got 60 something plats and 11 ectos, will be looking to outfit myself further with runes and a better weapon. Not really sure what

I'm going to choose but I've been all over wiki and I'll make up my mind soon. Dunno when I'll be back at R.A but I come from Darktide, the pvp-only

server of Asheron's Call, I've been pking for 15 years so I do see myself returning to the arena-

Negative. The 4 year olds are the ones who call the good players "names" and insult them because they can not fathom playing the game at the level the good players do.

Your complaint is that people act differently online than in real life? Get over it. It is a video game. If the internet is upsetting you then its probably best you stay off of it.

I feel a need to clarify "pvp only" server, Darktide is pk & pve; you have to level up and gear through pve

but you can be killed at anytime anywhere in game and you drop equipment every death unless you have high-value "death items" to cover your gear-

You're literary being both, an elitist and a @sshole. And no, lack of social skills don't apply to most players unless you have some statistics to back you up(your inept friends aren't eligible to judge a whole population)?

"If the internet is upsetting you then its probably best you stay off of it." - You should perhaps take your own advice. As you clearly show that you are being affected by someone playing a class or a build or whatever that you do not agree with. Try again.

In response to OP: As much as I hate a paragon on my side and god know's I've trash talked a handful of them, it's your own experience that matters when you play(unless you're thinking of going competitive). If you're going into RA with a paragon and that's what you wanna do then you should do that. Unfortunately Paragons are like ritualists, they are poorly designed. They are rad af in PvE but in PvP they are extremely limited. The only decent places you'd see either is in HA or GvG.

You're probably being reported because they feel you're ruining their experience. You have as much right as them to do what you want to do out of the time you play a game.

Negative. I'm being a realist. Unfortunately, one no name pver isn't going to persuade me to ignore years of experience from high end PvPers. That isn't being elitist. That is just being smart.

I guess my advice should apply to you as well. If you aren't getting upset, stop reflecting that emotion in your posts.

Try again.

It's actually rather amusing that you don't actually realise how elitist you sound. "One no namer", do you even read what you type? I'm expecting "whoru" and "how many golds???" next. Don't let us down!

I'm not actually quite sure how I am reflecting any feelings in what I type, it's text after all, I'm not expressing emotions, nor am I explaining how anything you write makes me feel. Maybe you're just a little offended.

Try to go Paragon with Cruel spear as elite.
Forgot the build but its something like this
- spear of lighting
- go for the eyes
- cruel spear
- vicious attack
- anthem of flame
- rip enchantment
- ressurection signet
- aggressive refrain

This way u can do some serious dmg as a paragon (ranged warrior kinda), when I play it people usually die fast if my midline actually pays attention, but that's pretty much the case with anything rly.
